The white Tiger is truly a magnificent creature, but they are disappearing at an alarming rate. These tigers are 3 meters long (about 9 feet) and weigh approximately 285 kg (400-569 pounds). They are born to Bengal Tigers that carry an unusual gene needed for white coloring. The male and female only come together during mating season. Even though it is illegal, poachers in many Asian countries continue to hunt tigers. Body parts are sought for use in traditional Chinese medicine and exotic recipes. Poaching of any kind must be stopped!
