Safari West, located in Northern California's beautiful Sonoma County, is my link to Africa. It is home to numerous species of African wildlife and a wonderful tourist destination.

This is Mara, a six-year-old female reticulated giraffe that I photographed during one of my visits to the park. She is named after the Mara River in Africa which flows through Kenya and Tanzania.

Safari West is a highly-recommended destination when visiting the Northern California wine country.
