Four Texas cowhands break their day's routine with a game of cards. Cowboys wagered everything from hard-earned cash to anything of value for bounty money. Here they are depicted playing for the right to obtain the deed to a piece of land. The map identifying the real estate up for grabs is pictured at the center. (Circa 1882).
